Senior Associate

Ethan Carlson currently serves as a Senior Associate where he is responsible for conducting financial and operational analysis, developing key performance indicators, supporting value creation initiatives, constructing 13-week cash flows, analyzing working capital assessments and assisting in the overall implementation of value maximization strategies.

Prior to Portage Point Partners, Ethan was a Private Equity Associate at Blue Wolf Capital Partners, where he was responsible for conducting financial, operational and market diligence for new platform investment opportunities across healthcare, forest and building products, industrial and engineering services and niche manufacturing. He served as a board observer for Vicksburg Forest Products and C&C Forest Products portfolio companies. And ran a successful acquisition of Fletcher Group by State Group, a Blue Wolf portfolio company.

During his tenure at Blue Wolf, Ethan also successfully executed the acquisition of seven oral solid dosage (OSD) contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) sites from Recipharm. During this transaction, Ethan built an extensive leveraged buyout (LBO) analyzing the company’s future growth prospects and viability of drug manufacturing capabilities for various blue chip pharma companies, researched OSD market trends constructing a site-by-site analysis for top products and conducted diligence on new M&A opportunities driving the long-term value creation plan for the business.

Previously, he was an Analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York City, where he advised Fortune 100 companies on the strategic rationale and financial viability of mergers, acquisitions, LBOs, equity and debt offerings and major corporate actions across all verticals in the healthcare industry, including Cognate’s sale to Charles River (NYSE: CRL) and Oscar Health’s (NYSE: OSCR) initial public offering.

Ethan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Greehey School of Business at St. Mary’s University. Ethan holds his Series 63 and 79 FINRA certifications.
