Chris Vasta

Chris Vasta currently serves as a Senior Director at Portage Point Partners based in the firm’s Chicago office. He specializes in providing operational, strategic and financial advice to underperforming and distressed companies as a leader in the Performance Improvement practice.

As a seasoned operations professional with more than 15 years of experience, Chris has a track record of delivering outsized impact in large cap and middle market companies across a diverse set of industries including private equity, automotive, aerospace, industrials and healthcare. He is a dedicated client impact partner and deeply committed to driving a step-change in performance leveraging expertise in operational excellence spanning manufacturing, procurement and product development.

Prior to joining Portage Point, Chris was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company and leader within their Operations Practice focusing on value creation and end-to-end business transformations for corporate and private equity clients. In this role, Chris collaborated with the C-suite and functional leaders to identify opportunities, develop strategic plans and implement initiatives designed to propel growth, enhance profitability and cultivate organizational capabilities. Notably, he’s played a pivotal role in successful global transformations including delivering $150 million in enterprise value for a healthcare portfolio company, generating $600 million in cost savings for an aerospace organization and securing approximately $1 billion in inflation claims recovery for Tier 1 automotive suppliers.

Previously, Chris was a business unit leader at a professional engineering services firm focused on executing programmatic, organizational, and growth strategies.  He also led go-to-market strategy for a medical device start-up, project management for Honeywell (HON) and engineering design at Toyota Motor Corporation (TM).

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
