
Blair Woolheater
Blair currently serves as a Director where he provides financial, operational and strategic advice to companies experiencing transition, underperformance or distress. His professional experience includes strategic and operational advisory services to both public and private organizations.
Since joining Portage Point, Blair has led a private company operating in the advertising and in-person events industries through an organizational assessment, subsequent restructure and a comprehensive General Ledger review to reduce expenses and preserve cash during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also supported the development of liquidity management processes and tools and a holistic transformation plan helping to position the organization for operational excellence and future growth. Additionally, Blair recently led operations and maintenance for a large, private maritime transportation client.
Prior to joining Portage Point, Blair was a management consultant with Wilson Perumal & Company, working in a wide variety of areas, spanning business strategy to execution. At WP&C, Blair helped large federal clients develop and execute strategies for organizational transformation. He also advised clients on business
process improvement, operations improvement, technology and culture Prior to joining WP&C, Blair began his professional career in the US Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program and went on to excel as a leader in the US Navy’s submarine program, working as an officer on a fast-attack, nuclear submarine. He also served as engineering manager and instructor on the world’s oldest operating nuclear reactor, where he was directly responsible for nuclear reactor safety and the successful qualification of thousands of nuclear navy sailors.
In his role as an engineering manager, Blair received awards for improving plant operational processes vital to reactor safety. He received Instructor of the Year
honors for developing and mentoring the next generation of Navy leaders. Blair currently serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy’s Submarine Force Reserve Component where he provides strategic and operational support to real-world submarine operations.
Blair graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. He is also a graduate of the US Navy’s Nuclear Power School
