Managing Director, Head of Performance Improvement

Arun Lamba is a Managing Director and Head of the Performance Improvement practice at Portage Point. Arun drives improvement, enhancement and transformation of middle market businesses through advisory, implementation and interim leadership.

Arun has a passion for value creation, leveraging his operating experience to develop strategic insights and implement business management systems that sustain strong, tangible results. As both a consultant and operator, Arun has worked across a diverse set of industries and functions to drive transformational profitability and working capital improvements.

Since joining Portage Point, Arun has worked with industrial, services and technology businesses to develop and execute value creation plans. His experience includes leading transformations, driving focused performance enhancement initiatives across operations and sales and providing CXO support.

Arun recently served as interim COO for a consumer products company, driving transformational change across organizational structure, manufacturing, supply chain management and product management to generate significant margin enhancement and working capital improvements. Efforts resulted in $28 million of EBITDA value (or 14% of sales).

Arun also led the transformation of a media roll-up business, developing and executing a plan that unlocked key platform synergies and generated significant enterprise value amid revenue headwinds. Key value creation initiatives focused on eliminating $12 million in cost (12% of sales) while aligning strategy with core channels of profitable growth.

Prior to joining Portage Point, Arun was a management consultant with Wilson Perumal & Co, working with organizations ranging from the US Army to PE-backed middle market healthcare companies on developing and executing strategies for organizational transformation.

Arun is also an experienced business operator, having led multiple manufacturing and service organizations through development and execution of strategic transformations that resulted in significant EBITDA growth. His leadership covered both operational and commercial aspects, managing the businesses through strategy development, post-merger integration and cross-functional process optimization.

Previously, Arun worked as Sustainability Manager for Silgan Holdings, a leading packaging manufacturer, and as an Investment Consultant with Cambridge Associates.
