Zach Rose
Senior Director
Zach joined Portage Point as its first employee in 2016, and currently serves as a Senior Director in the firm’s Chicago office. Zach’s professional experience includes in-court and out-of-court restructurings, end-to-end business transformations, mergers & acquisitions, debt capital raises and financial / operational turnarounds.
While at Portage Point, Zach has led dozens of notable engagements spanning multiple Portage Point service lines. Zach has served as Deputy Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) and Plan Administrator of a global advertising, technology and data company. Under Zach’s leadership, the company entered Chapter 11 Bankruptcy with consensual use of cash collateral, ample liquidity and multiple stalking horse proposals. Zach continued business transformation initiatives, active liquidity management and post-petition marketing efforts which led to a competitive auction that preserved hundreds of jobs and significantly maximized sale proceeds. The Secured Creditors received more than double their expected recovery.
Zach also served in an interim President capacity during the business transformation, sale process and capital raise for a public, third-party marketplace retailer on Amazon. The engagement was recognized as Corporate Turnaround of the Year by TMA. Zach led the carveout of a large international event ticketing platform where he oversaw the strategic development and execution of day-to-day operational activities required to successfully stand up the newly acquired business. He has also served in an interim Chief Financial Officer capacity and led a subsequent Office of the CFO mandate for a $400+ million revenue manufacturing company. He helped implement stringent cash management practices to stabilize liquidity and improve go-forward customer / vendor payment terms. And, Zach has overseen contingency planning, liquidity management, business plan development and bankruptcy reporting.
Prior to joining Portage Point, Zach was an investment banker at Moelis and Company in New York where he advised debtors, creditors and equity holders on a wide-range of transactions.
Zach graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
