Zach Contreras
Senior Director
Zach Contreras is a Senior Director at Portage Point Partners based in the Los Angeles office.
With over a decade of advisory experience, Zach partners with CFOs, finance teams and sponsors to enhance liquidity and corporate performance management capabilities. Zach specializes in helping clients build or refine critical financial planning and analysis processes, including revenue and volume forecasting, annual budgeting, long-range planning and liquidity forecasting. He is adept at leveraging disconnected financial, operational and industry data to produce actionable performance insights, create testable assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.
Zach has deep expertise in the software and technology space, having led numerous engagements for both private and public software and technology clients ranging from $50 million to more than $3 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR). His project focus includes topline modeling, customer and product profitability analysis, cloud cost forecasting, key performance indicator (KPI) selection and the automation of software-as-a-service (SaaS) metrics reporting.
Prior to Portage Point, Zach served as a Senior Director in the Strategic Finance Practice at Accordion. Notable engagements include the design and build of a bookings-to-billings-to-revenue model for a $1 billion in ARR tax and compliance software provider, KPI selection and reporting design for a $300 million in revenue global fast-casual restaurant chain and cash flow forecast design and build for a $7 billion in revenue publicly traded manufacturing and distribution business. Zach also served in multiple interim FP&A roles and co-led the development of a tech-enabled cash flow forecasting solution during his tenure.
Earlier in his career, Zach worked in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice at FTI Consulting, leading financial and operational improvement initiatives for clients across the healthcare, retail, manufacturing and technology sectors.
Zach earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
