Steven Shenker

Steven Shenker is a Managing Director at Portage Point. Steven leverages his extensive expertise in in-court and out-of-court restructurings, operational and financial turnarounds, performance improvement initiatives, strategic growth planning, private equity investing and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He specializes in partnering with both private and public middle market companies to drive transformative results.

Since joining Portage Point in 2020, Steven has since led more than 50 successful turnarounds and restructuring engagements across a range of industries. He has served in numerous Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) and Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) roles, including for TPX Communications, Blink Fitness, QC Supply, the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, JMB Shipping and Deputy Chief Restructuring Officer for Bouchard Transportation. His work as CRO of Blink Fitness earned Portage Point the 2025 Turnaround Atlas Award for Cross Border Distressed M&A Deal of the Year.

Prior to Portage Point, Steven was a founding member and Vice President at Periphas Capital, where he focused on sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in middle market companies. He also spent two years at The Carlyle Group in its middle market private equity group, overseeing five portfolio companies and managing new investments. Earlier in his career, Steven was an investment banking analyst at Moelis & Company, where he concentrated on M&A as well as restructuring transactions.

Steven earned a Bachelor of Science (Magna Cum Laude) in Business and Management, specializing in Finance, from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University.
