Michael Watt

Michael Watt is a Managing Director in Transaction Advisory Services Practice at Portage Point Partners in the New York office.

Michael has over 20 years of experience advising private equity firms and corporate clients on value creation through acquisitions, operational improvements and divestitures. He leads multidisciplinary teams on complex transactions ranging from $25 million to more than $5 billion with a focus on financial and operational due diligence, contract analysis, cash flow and working capital optimization and post-merger integration and transformation. He has led due diligence engagements for large cap and middle market private equity firms as well as major domestic and international corporations across a range of sectors, including consumer products, distribution, industrial manufacturing and retail among others.

Prior to Portage Point, Michael was a Partner in the Deal Advisory Practice at KPMG. He began his career in KPMG’s Audit and Risk Advisory practice.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York.
