Michael Steckel

Michael Steckel currently serves as a Senior Vice President in Portage Point Partners Transaction Advisory Services practice based in Atlanta, Georgia. His professional experience includes more than nine years primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions (buy-side / sell-side / recapitalizations) with a secondary focus on divestitures, carve-outs and technical accounting.

His concentration has intentionally been towards middle market clients requiring financial due diligence in a wide variety of industries including, manufacturing and distribution, software as a service (SaaS), ecommerce, transportation and logistics, technology, consumer product and professional services.

Michael’s clients’ enterprise values range from $75 million to $2 billion. His primary responsibilities include meeting with founders and executives, building data packs, authoring financial diligence reports, participating in deal negotiations and reviewing purchase agreements for strategic and private equity buyers and sellers.

Prior to joining Portage Point Partners, Michael worked in BDO’s Transaction Advisory Services practice and in EY’s and KPMG’s advisory and assurance practices. During his time in these roles, Michael focused on manufacturing and distribution, gaming, real estate and professional services.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Georgia and is an active member within the AICPA and Georgia Society of CPAs.
