Lance Carr

Lance Carr serves as Managing Director and Head of Valuations at Portage Point Partners based in the New York office. Lance brings nearly two decades of valuations, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, financial reporting and tax compliance experience. He advises private equity (PE) firms, corporations and financial sponsors across a wide range of industries including healthcare services and healthcare information technology (HCIT), pharmaceuticals, business services, consumer products, and more. Lance advises on matters spanning the entire deal lifecycle, including transaction-related valuations such as purchase price allocations and fairness opinions to hold-period support including 409A valuations, goodwill impairment analyses and portfolio valuations. Lance also has extensive practical knowledge of financial modeling, providing clients with the analytical tools needed to make informed strategic decisions. 

Prior to joining Portage Point, Lance was a Managing Director at Houlihan Lokey, where he contributed to building the Financial and Valuation Advisory business. During his tenure, he played a key role in developing Houlihan’s national account coverage program, helping lead its presence in Israel and contributing to the launch of the firm’s financial modeling business. He started his career at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services.  

Lance currently serves on the board of the Youth Renewal Fund and helps lead its finance committee. As a part of his board services with YRF, he serves on the finance committee of Darca Schools. He also serves in leadership roles with UJA Federation and on the Strategic Advisory Board for Olami Manhattan, in addition to providing pro bono advisory services to various nonprofit organizations. 

Lance holds a Bachelor in the Art in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
