Jeff Gasbarra

Jeffrey (Jeff) Gasbarra currently serves as a Managing Director at Portage Point Partners where his primary areas of focus include performance improvement, turnaround & restructuring and interim management. He specializes in advising healthy, underperforming and distressed companies on value creation strategies and navigating complex financial issues.

Since joining Portage Point, Jeff has served as interim Chief Financial Officer for a healthcare company with operations in six states. He led initiatives including the development of key performance indicators, improvement of financial data for decision making, cost rationalization, strengthening the financial close process and enhancing forecasting accuracy. These efforts led to earnings growth through revenue expansion and improved margins.

Jeff has served as interim Chief Financial Officer for a consumer products company with domestic manufacturing and an international supply chain. His efforts have focused on stabilizing the financial organization, implementing a strong global liquidity management capability and driving enhancements in cost transparency and financial reporting, effectively supporting significant enterprise value growth.

Jeff has also served as Interim Chief Administrative Officer for a Jones Act Petroleum Barge operator. Among his key accomplishments were the implementation of a 13-week cash flow model and the development of a comprehensive long-term business forecast and plan with key performance indicators, all culminating in the sale of the business for more than $250 million. Other notable engagements include serving as the interim Chief Financial Officer for a construction sub-contractor hired on many of the largest commercial and public construction projects in New York. Moreover, Jeff served as the executive lead for a multinational consumer products corporation. His responsibilities encompassed liquidity management, business plan optimization and the enhancement of financial operations. As head of execution for a major international travel company, Jeff oversaw the development of contingency plans, cash management strategies and restructuring plan workstreams. During his leadership of financial transformation initiatives at a promotional product distributor, he developed cash management and liquidity forecasting tools to successfully manage complex operative environments and liquidity constraints.

Prior to joining Portage Point, Jeff worked in the Turnaround and Restructuring Services group at AlixPartners and within the consulting practices group at both Development Specialists Inc. and FTI Consulting.

Jeff is a recipient of The M&A Advisor “Emerging Leader Award” and has been a guest speaker on restructuring topics at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.

Jeff graduated with a master’s degree in Accounting and a minor in Finance from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois. Jeff is currently a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and a registered Certified Public Accountant.
