Jake Christensen

Jake Christensen is a Senior Vice President at Portage Point Partners, based in the New York office. He advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, lenders and corporate leaders facing complex business challenges, helping them assess critical issues, identify practical solutions and connect the right expertise across Portage Point.

Jake also brings a broad perspective on the firm’s clients, relationships and market activity, enabling him to connect executives with relevant insights and capabilities across the Portage Point platform.

Jake has deep experience creating value across go-to-market strategy, merger integration, carveouts and operational and finance transformation. He draws on that experience to shape commercial strategy and build the infrastructure to support the firm’s growth. He drives integration across finance, Data & Analytics, marketing and client-facing teams while enhancing the systems, processes and technology that support them. His focus is turning strategy into repeatable execution through the tools, reporting and workflows needed to deepen relationships and convert pipeline into revenue.

Prior to Portage Point, Jake was a Director at Accordion, where he helped enhance the firm’s commercial function, sharpening account management and coverage while strengthening pipeline oversight and reporting. He also helped implement a customer relationship management (CRM) platform, introduced artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled tools to improve business development productivity and led commercial integration across acquisitions. He advised private equity sponsors and portfolio companies across merger integration, carveouts and operational and finance transformation. For a sponsor-backed warehousing and distribution company, he directed post-close integration, establishing an integration management office and structured governance. On the same platform, he resolved critical carveout issues by deploying transition service agreements and a Day One readiness plan that enabled an on-time close within two weeks. He also supported a sponsor-backed software company and an insurance business on process design and implementation across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and record-to-report.

He began his career at Ernst & Young Parthenon, advising global corporations on separation and integration, including International Paper (NYSE: IP) on its paper business divestiture and the merger of Raytheon and United Technologies (RTX).

Jake holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from Colgate University (magna cum laude).
