Edwin Benny

Edwin is a Senior Vice President at Portage Point Partners, based in the New York office. As a member of the Transaction Advisory Services practice, Edwin specializes in assisting private equity and corporate clients through mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations.

Edwin has over seven years of experience providing tax advisory services for proposed acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings, with a principal focus on middle market transactions. His experience includes M&A tax and consulting services across various sectors including energy, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and technology.

Prior to Portage Point, Edwin was a manager in the Global Transaction Tax practice at Alvarez and Marsal. At Alvarez & Marsal, Edwin concentrated on providing transaction structuring, due diligence and post-transaction remediation services to middle market private equity firms. Edwin began his career as an Associate focused on state and local tax at KPMG.

Edwin holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Texas.
