Ed Ma

Ed Ma is a Senior Vice President at Portage Point Partners based in New York. He has more than a decade of experience advising clients on strategy, M&A and restructuring matters. Ed works with companies, investors and other stakeholders across complex transactions and transformation initiatives, with expertise in deal strategy, business plan assessment, organizational design, post-merger integration and carveout execution. He helps clients develop and implement strategic value-driven solutions that improve operational performance and support long-term success. 

Prior to Portage Point, Ed was a Director in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practice at AlixPartners, where he advised clients across the technology, media and entertainment, retail and consumer products industries. His work focused on M&A integration and separation, operating model transformation and restructuring, with an emphasis on helping organizations navigate change, execute effectively and realize transaction value.  

Earlier in his career, Ed was a Manager in PwC’s Deals practice, where he focused on restructuring advisory and finance transformation services. He also held corporate finance roles, building a strong foundation in financial and data analysis. 

Ed has a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Toronto and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
