David Friedlander

David Friedlander is a Director in the Transaction Advisory Services Practice at Portage Point Partners based in New York. He advises private equity (PE) and corporate clients on complex restructurings and transactions, with a focus on tax considerations, including in-court and out-of-court restructurings, debt restructurings, buy-side and sell-side transactions and special situations. He also advises on diligence efforts, partnering with stakeholders across the entire transaction lifecycle from initial planning through execution and post-transaction considerations. 

Prior to Portage Point, David was a Manager in the Global Transaction Tax Practice at Alvarez & Marsal, where he advised clients on restructuring transactions and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He began his career in the M&A Tax Practice at KPMG. 

David earned his Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac University School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Quinnipiac University College of Arts and Sciences. He is a licensed attorney in the state of Connecticut.
