Craig Herbst
Vice President
Craig Herbst is a Vice President at Portage Point Partners, based in the New York office, where he is a member of the cross-functional team.
Craig partners with private equity sponsors, C-suite executives and finance teams across the transaction lifecycle, from diligence and carveout planning through exit readiness. Beyond the transaction, he designs key performance indicator (KPI) frameworks, stakeholder reporting and performance analytics that give management teams visibility into the business and drives value creation and growth initiatives that translate the deal thesis into measurable results. Craig has advised middle-market clients across healthcare, technology, media, business services and telecommunications and is known for bringing the same rigor to a forecast or an operating model redesign as he does to a transaction.
Prior to Portage Point, Craig was a Vice President at Accordion, where he drove the carveout of a $1.5 billion post-acute care division from a $30 billion national health system, prepared software and retail media businesses for sale and shaped the go-to-market strategy and operating models behind the firm’s largest acquisition. Before Accordion, Craig was on the corporate development team at Index Exchange, where he closed the company’s first-ever acquisition, built and executed the integration plan and ran the long-range forecasting process. He began his career at KPMG in the Financial Due Diligence, Accounting Advisory Services and M&A and Corporate Strategy practices.
Craig holds a Master of Science (MS) in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting and Operations Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
