Chance Bray

Chance Bray is a Senior Director with Portage Point Partners based in the Houston office. ​He has two decades of finance and accounting experience with a deep focus on operational accounting and process improvement, helping clients enhance operations to better meet their strategic objectives. He has a proven track record of driving performance improvement across finance teams by improving and redesigning reporting, streamlining processes and optimizing systems. His experience ranges from Fortune 100 global corporations to startups across diverse industries including manufacturing, health care, financial services, upstream oil and gas and midstream energy.​

Prior to joining Portage Point, Chance spent more four years as a Senior Director at Accordion and two years as a Senior Director at Embark. During his time, he rebuilt and improved finance organizations and served in interim CFO and other leadership roles while building scalable processes to align with company growth plans.​

Prior or Accordion and Embark, Chance spent 5 years with KKR in the Energy Real Assets practice. During that time, he was responsible for portfolio wide reporting of a $2 billion fund and partnered closely with portfolio company management teams to ensure compliance with fund requirements. ​

Chance began his career in the audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was responsible for the audit and review of financial statements of fortune 500 firms. He was recruited to join PwC’s advisory practice where he specialized in finance transformation.​

Chance earned a bachelor’s from University of Oklahoma in Accounting and Economics and a master’s in Accounting. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas.
