Avinash Poddar

Avinash Poddar is a Director at Portage Point Partners in the Transaction Execution Services Practice, based in Chicago. With more than 12 years of experience, he advises leading organizations on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integration, carveouts, separation execution, enterprise transformation and value creation initiatives. 

Avinash brings deep expertise across the full deal lifecycle, from pre–deal planning and operational due diligence through separation planning, carveout execution and post–merger integration to synergy realization. He specializes in helping clients navigate highly complex transactions and organizational change by strategically aligning governance, operating models and execution capabilities. This approach supports Day 1 readiness, Day 100 planning and value realization. 

Throughout his career, Avinash has led M&A and transformation programs representing more than $25 billion in aggregate transaction value across consumer products, retail, industrial and life sciences for both strategic and private equity clients. His accomplishments include directing more than $500 million in standalone cost assessments, one–time cost planning, Transition Services Agreement (TSA) costing and structuring and stranded cost mitigation engagements. 

Prior to Portage Point, Avinash held positions at EY–Parthenon, Genpact and IBM Consulting Services, where he led finance transformation, shared services optimization, process engineering and digital transformation programs for multinational clients across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. 

Avinash holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from NMIMS, Mumbai, India and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), India.
