Akhil Gandra

Akhil Gandra currently serves as a Senior Associate in the firm’s New York office where he is responsible for conducting financial and operational analysis, developing key performance indicators, supporting value creation initiatives, constructing 13-week cash flows, analyzing working capital assessments and assisting in the overall implementation of value maximization strategies.

Prior to joining Portage Point, Akhil was on the founding investment team at Franchise Equity Partners (FEP), where he was responsible for investment underwriting, transaction diligence and execution, portfolio company management and business development. At FEP, Akhil analyzed hundreds of franchise businesses across auto dealerships, restaurants, fitness centers, hotels and equipment distributors. He led the firm’s $70 million investment in Georgica Automotive and $55 million investment in Parks Automotive.

Previously, he was an Investment Banking Associate at Citigroup covering large-cap insurance companies and asset manager clients. He advised American National Group (ANAT) on its $5.1 billion sale to Brookfield Reinsurance (BNRE) and Farmers Group on its $3.9 billion acquisition of MetLife’s (MET) Auto & Home business.

Akhil holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Information Systems from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
