Managing Director

Niels Blom is a Managing Director of Special Projects at Portage Point Partners in the New York office, where he specializes in select Integrated Due Diligence services.

Niels has more than 12 years of experience leading value-creation strategy and execution in complex situations across private equity (PE)-backed businesses and blue chip corporations. He has partnered directly with CEOs, CFOs, operating and investment teams to identify enterprise value opportunities and deliver measurable improvements in EBITDA, cash flow, working capital and operations.

Prior to Portage Point, Niels was a Managing Director in the Transformation practice at Accordion, a financial consulting and technology firm focused on executing value creation initiatives at PE portfolio companies. He led complex, portfolio-wide value-creation and transformation agendas, translating investment theses into actionable value-creation plans and providing senior oversight across strategic initiatives.

Before joining Accordion, Niels spent about four years at PwC New York, advancing from Senior Associate to Director. He led target operating model design, carve-out and post-merger integration engagements, cloud enterprise resource planning strategy and implementation, supply chain finance due diligence and cash flow forecasting for clients across the industrial products, telecommunications, media and entertainment, technology and financial services industries.

Niels began his career at PwC Nederland in Amsterdam as a Consultant and later Senior Consultant, supporting working capital optimization, indirect spend reduction and market entry analysis for clients across telecommunications, consumer goods, engineering and construction, retail, financial services and government sectors.

Niels holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Finance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), Cum Laude and also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business/Managerial Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam)
