Alice Yu

Alice Yu is an Associate at Portage Point Partners in the Chicago office, where she advises chief financial officers, controllers and private equity sponsors on technical accounting, financial reporting, finance transformation and operational finance matters. 

Alice has experience supporting companies through transformative events, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), initial public offerings (IPOs), SPAC and de-SPAC transactions, restructurings and other capital markets transactions. She partners with finance organizations to navigate complex accounting challenges, enhance financial reporting processes and support transaction-related reporting requirements. 

Prior to Portage Point, Alice was a Lead Financial Analyst in the Transaction Advisory Services group at Houlihan Lokey, where she advised public and private companies through M&A, IPOs, SPAC and de-SPAC transactions, restructurings and other strategic transactions. Alice gained experience across technical accounting and financial reporting matters, including acquisition accounting, fresh start accounting, SEC reporting, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, debt and equity transactions, financial statement preparation under US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS to US GAAP conversions. Alice worked closely with management teams and private equity sponsors to navigate complex transactions and evolving financial reporting requirements. 

Alice holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from New York University and a Master of Science (MS) in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Illinois and holds FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses.
