Poorni Velaverthipati is a Vice President in the Performance Improvement practice at Portage Point Partners, based in New York. She advises corporate clients across industries on value creation initiatives, with a focus on driving sustainable EBITDA improvement through technology-enabled transformation, operating model design and disciplined execution.
Poorni has experience leading performance improvement engagements from diagnostic assessment through execution and value capture. Her areas of expertise include application and platform rationalization, service operating model design, KPI development and governance cadences and benefits realization tracking. She works closely with executive leadership teams to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities, design target-state operating models and lead the implementation of initiatives that enhance transparency, optimize cost structures and improve operational effectiveness. In addition to technology-focused transformations, Poorni has also led workstreams focused on procurement strategies and cost efficiency opportunities spanning both technology and direct materials.
Prior to Portage Point, Poorni was part of KPMG’s Deal Advisory & Strategy practice, where she led cross-functional workstreams on performance improvement and post-transaction optimization initiatives for large, complex organizations across healthcare, consumer packaged goods and energy. She regularly interfaced with C-suite stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into executable transformation roadmaps and measurable results.
Poorni earned a Bachelor of Science from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where she triple majored in Business Economics & Public Policy, International Business and Business Data Analytics. She also holds a Product Management Certification from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
