Managing Director | Head of Office of the CFO
Barclay Stanton is a Managing Director and Head of Office of CFO (OCFO) at Portage Point Partners, based in the Los Angeles office.
With more than 20 years of financial, operational, advisory and entrepreneurial experience, Barclay provides holistic support to management teams and investors. His industry expertise spans consumer and retail, software as a service, manufacturing, distribution, education, business services and entertainment, with a particular focus on leveraging data analytics and technology to build best-in-class finance and accounting functions.
Prior to Portage Point, Barclay served as Managing Director and Head of the Los Angeles Office at Accordion. During this time, he spearheaded the launch of a new private equity go-to-market strategy in the LA market and led the commercial integration of the firm’s largest acquisition – a more than 600-person data and analytics organization based in Hyderabad, India (formerly Merylitics).
Before Accordion, Barclay consulted for an overseas, venture-backed location-based entertainment (LBE) company, developing the business plan, financial models and rollout strategy for its US expansion. Additionally, he founded a food-tech startup that created an asset-light, crowd-sourced marketing platform, allowing online content creators to turn recipes into shoppable meal kits.
Previously, Barclay was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the high-growth startup Faherty Brand, where he accelerated the company’s production calendar to generate more than $1 million in free cash flow in the first six months and drove a 1000 basis point (BPS) increase in margins in the first year through new sourcing strategies. He led the retail rollout, implemented a close process, compiled historical financials and drove financial planning and analysis (FP&A) best practices, all while the business grew over 100% year-over-year (YoY).
Barclay started his career at Ralph Lauren, where he worked across sourcing and manufacturing, merger integration and FP&A, eventually becoming Director of Finance and Operations for the Club Monaco e-commerce division.
Barclay earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Chinese from Bucknell University. He completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program from the CFA Institute in 2010.
